The purpose of this course is to educate nurses in the standards of Forensic Nursing and to ensure competent medical-legal forensic evaluation for all patients reporting sexual violence. Taking into account developmental, cultural, racial, ethnic, sexual and socioeconomic diversity. This course is intended for nurses interested in becoming a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Requirements include RN or higher. In order to successfully complete this training, participants must complete all online requirements and receive a 90% on the post-test. All requirements listed above must be met to satisfy completion of course. No partial credit given. This course meets the guidelines established by the International Association of Forensic Nurses and has been awarded the IAFN seal, which notes the highest standards recognizable in SANE education.
